RANCH POLICY
Payment : Due to scammers and  bounced checks we only except cash at this time. There are many scams that involve fake checks, fake money orders and even western union. With the advanced  computer technology even banks can not detect a fraud until it is too late.We realize this is inconvenient to you and have no problem writing you a bill of sale for proof of purchase. We also provide a standard buyers agreement if you prefer. We will not however sign any outrageous buyers  agreements that you bring to us.Since we have decided to strictly enforce a cash only policy we have been working hard to get pay pal set up.We hope soon pay pal and credit card payments will be an acceptable form of payment.
Trial periods : We do not give trial periods.Since once a horse leaves our possession it is out of our control. There are so many things that determine how a horse will behave for you once you take it home.Which is why we also do not give any kind of money back guarantees. We sell horses we do not sell horsemanship. A horses training does not end with a purchase it is a continuous effort throughout its life. How a horse is ridden;cared for and handled are all determining factors in a horses performance. We keep most horses on about a 100 acres. If you take them home, keep them  in a pen;stall or few acres they should naturally have more energy. If you feed high energy feeds or hay they will become more hyper then they were.If you or your child runs or lopes any horse often it will become more hyper.Vice versa if you are looking for a high energy horse. If you do not take your horse treats or feed when you catch it he/she will not want caught.I'll fitting or unsuitable tack will change your horses behavior.Every saddle and saddle pad does not fit every horse.Improper fit causes pain which causes negative behaviors. You must also find the correct bit for your horse and rider combination. What works for one may not work for another...These are not flaws in your horse.   Test rides : You are permitted to test ride a horse you are interested in buying.Test rides are common. We expect and encourage them. They are done in a  local arena and its surrounding trails.During hunting seasons those trails are closed to riders and must stick to open areas next to the arena. The arena is "ride at your own risk" .We do not ride on our own property due to accident liability. We only test ride in areas that are open to the public and are "not responsible for accidents".In certain circumstances if you return for another test ride and you feel the need to ride somewhere else we might go to Robbers cave state park or a local wildlife preserve. However we do not know many of the people that try out horses. That means we do not know their horsemanship skills and abilities. It is most convenient and comfortable for us to start you out in a closed gate arena. If we then feel comfortable with you on the horse you are interested in you may go out onto the adjoining trails. Our concern is for our horses safety as well as yours. After all our horse is trusting us to keep it safe from harm just as we are relying on it to take care of you.
Vet checks and blood test are encouraged at the buyers expense.
We do guarantee we have not drugged our horses to effect their performance in anyway. However a drug test would only be valid during a pre purchase exam while the horse is still in our possesion.
We reserve the right to refuse to sell a horse at any time we feel uncomfortable with the sale for any reason.
If you try out a horse and you are not satisfied with it you should not buy it.There is someone for every horse. You might simply not be the one for that horse. It is always very important that a horse and rider suit each other.
Many buyers ask if its a good horse why are you selling it?Just like you, we have different needs at different times in our lives.Sometimes we need a finished barrel horse, sometimes we enjoy finding a diamond in the rough and turning it into a horse to be proud of.Sometimes our interest changes.Other times we need to sell for financial reasons.
We do not try to make our horses something they are not. Some horses are laid back, some are more hot blooded some are interested in cattle some are not. They will be loved and appreciated by someone for what they are.
Some buyers come to us looking for the negatives in the horse and in us since we are the seller. We realize they may have had a bad experience and try to ease their mind.We too are horse buyers.Sure we have been on your side of the fence many times. We encourage you to come with an open mind.Look for both positives and negatives and then decide if this is the horse for you.
We have recently started excepting consignment horses and partnerships from neighboring ranches. We only take such horse from ranches or individuals that we personally know and have done business with for years. A consignment horse is not offered to a buyer until we are satisfied with its behavior ; abilities;temperament and soundness. We keep these horses and ride them as if they were our own.We haul them to rodeos;barrel races;parades;team penning;4-h events;ropings;trail rides ect. Where ever we need to go they go.They are tested by us before we offer it for sale.If they need a tune up or need taught a certain disipline we keep them and work on that.If they are deemed unsafe or unsound they are sent back to the consigner.
We do guarantee that we have the right and authority to sale any horse we offer.
We can provide names of horse shippers and on occasion we will deliver to surrounding areas.
Down payments are accepted for reasonable amounts of time but will not be refunded if you change your mind.Due to the loss of potential buyers during the time the horse is off the market.
We will disclose any known maintence issues and any known vices.Just because a horse has a small quirk or a maintence issue does not mean he is not a good horse. Many horses that have competed or worked hard for their owners over the years need a little work from the chiropractor from time to time or some may need injections. If we are aware of any issues we will tell you.
We do not sell horses that  we would not be proud to own ourselves.
